Advanced digital technologies that allow users to ‘do more with less’ took center stage at the annual meeting of the publishing platform developer and its customers.
Held each year, the EidosMedia Customer meeting is a ‘shop window’ keeping users up to date with the latest developments and products coming out of EidosMedia’s highly active R&D teams. At the same time, customers share news of the innovative and often exciting operations they are building using EidosMedia technologies.
This year’s meeting was held in Milan in June and brought together 80 participants from customer organizations, together with members of EidosMedia management and development teams.
EidosMedia CEO Christian Pelanconi opened the proceedings by stressing the focus of the company’s activities on factors that promote its customers’ success: from constant innovation in products, services and support, to a drive to lower the total-cost-of-ownership of its solutions and strengthen customers’ operations through enhanced security features, cloud deployment and advanced training programs offered by the new EidosMedia Academy.
Christian also mentioned the continuing growth of the customer base with the addition of six new customers in media and finance since the beginning of the year and diversification into new sectors such as federal government services in the USA.
Among the customer projects presented at the meeting was News Corp Australia’s planned rollout to over 3000 editorial staff of the Swing web and mobile workspace. The move will revolutionize the production of NCA’s large portfolio of nearly two hundred newspapers, magazines and web portals.
At the Financial Times the flexibility of their platform has allowed them to develop tools to produce the kind of engaging journalism that has led to significant growth among readers, shortly expected to reach 1 million paying subscribers.
EidosMedia’s new digital media delivery platform, Cobalt, was the focus of impressive demonstrations showing the ease with which new websites can be created, A/B testing programs deployed and user experiences personalized with minimum manual intervention. Cobalt’s compatibility with third-party and open-source components creates a versatility essential for keeping up with developments among digital markets and audiences.
Attendees also learnt about the many options for cloud-based deployment of EidosMedia solutions. Microservice-oriented architecture, optimized for cloud applications, provides a wide range of infrastructural choices with exceptional security characteristics.
“We were delighted to see that once again we had exceeded expectations with the range and quality of new features and products we presented,” said EidosMedia CMO, Massimo Barsotti. “Our aim is to stay ahead of our customers’ evolving business models so that we have the solutions ready when they’re needed.”
“We seem to have been successful.”
