Users share advanced AI integrations at Future of Content

The annual gathering for Eidosmedia customers showcased editorial AI tools created by users with an innovative AI integration framework.

Milan, Italy. 15 July, 2025

“This was the first in-person meeting of the ProActions User Community, said Alex Wiedemann, Eidosmedia Head of Professional Services – Media Business Unit. “It was exciting to see the latest AI integrations from our customers and hear about the productivity gains they're achieving.”

The ProActions framework allows users of Eidosmedia’s Swing and Prime editorial environments to create their own AI tools, fully integrated into the user interface.

ProActions does the heavy lifting so that users can create innovative tools without needing to be tech-savvy,” said Alex.

Customer reactions

Among the customer teams present were French business daily Les Echos. Chief Digital Officer Violaine Degas commented on the new features presented at the meeting: “I liked very much ProActions - specially the feature that will let us squeeze the text or cut the text between the digital version and the print version – that’s very interesting for us.”

Violaine talked about the factors behind their success in introducing AI tools to the editorial staff. “We decided to work in a very collaborative way with the newsroom. We had workshops with all the roles and functions - maybe 30 people from the newsroom altogether.”

The Award winners

The prize for most innovative application of AI using the ProActions framework went to German publisher Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding for a one-click ‘story packaging’ tool that journalists can use to create headlines and summaries for multiple channels with a single click.

SWMH IT Director Gregor Zoller said: “ProActions made it easy for us to give those integrations to the teams in an easy way. It’s just right there in the place that they’re used to working.”

“We are tracking the usage of ProActions and the usage of AI in particular and we’re seeing many, many hundreds of usages per day, meaning that it’s actively being used, and the teams are really making use of it to get more productive.”

“I’m really happy that we were awarded the Innovation Award here,” Gregor continued. “Even though it’s just a fun competition, it’s so good to give the idea to the team that what we’re doing is appreciated and it’s the right thing we’re working on.”

The ProActions Community – moving forward

Alex commented on the results achieved by the Community so far: “A really good initiative and we need to push it even more I think. All of our customers are doing cool things, but if we can spread this information, if we can spread these tools and use cases, all of our customers benefit from them.”
