Eidosmedia to open new technology centre in Porto

The global digital technology company is opening a new development hub in the Portuguese city of Porto. Known as Eidosmedia Atlantic, the new centre will draw on the city’s pool of IT talent to maintain the company’s solutions at the forefront of digital publishing technology. Eidosmedia Atlantic will recruit around 35 people by the end of 2023 and continue growing its staff in 2024 and beyond.

Milan, Italy. July 1, 2022

“We’ve chosen Porto for our new technology centre because of its world-class universities, modern infrastructure and international environment,” said Eidosmedia CEO, Christian Pelanconi. “It’s an extraordinary opportunity to welcome talented new people to the Eidosmedia community.”

Eidosmedia, global leader in digital publishing and content management, is an international organization headquartered in Milan, Italy with subsidiaries in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Australia and China.

The company’s digital publishing platforms have become the solution of choice in the news-media and financial sectors and are increasingly adopted for corporate publishing and public-sector information services.

“We’re constantly exploring, evaluating and deploying new technologies to help our customers maximize the productivity and flexibility of their operations,” said Christian. “To help us with that mission we’re actively recruiting creative technology enthusiasts to join our teams.”

The new tech centre will become the company’s second global development hub, extending the current team structure and working in full coordination with the rest of the organization worldwide.

The first team to extend activities to the new hub will be Operations later in 2022, with a focus on Managed Services and Cloud. The Engineering team will begin to integrate the hub’s resources in early 2023, including collaboration with the Politecnico and the University of Porto.

The new centre will also support Eidosmedia’s ongoing development in innovative areas, such as the integration of Artificial Intelligence and machine-learning capabilities into its platforms.

Eidosmedia Atlantic will be based in the district of Batalha, in the historic heart of Porto, strategically connected with the metro, rail station and parking facilities, close to restaurants and shops.

Porto – a centre for innovation

Porto is a global centre of technological excellence. Thanks to its highly qualified universities, it has become a thriving multicultural community of tech talent and one of the main European hubs for research, innovation and technological development.

“We are confident Porto is the right choice to build a firm technological base to take Eidosmedia’s growth to the next level. Thanks to the access to a growing pool of technological talent, we see an exciting opportunity for our company’s evolution,” said Cristiano Meda, Eidosmedia CTO.

Call for tech talent

“IT talent is in high demand everywhere and this move will widen Eidosmedia’s strategic presence in Europe. Our aim is to give our teams the high-quality tech resources they need to maintain our customers’ solutions at the leading edge of digital technology,” said Valeria Benassi, Eidosmedia Global Head of HR.

Eidosmedia Atlantic will begin operations starting in July 2022 and recruitment has already begun for the first open positions.
